ANNOUNCEMENTS BY MADAM PRESIDENT

APPOINTMENTS TO THE SELECT COMMITTEE ON THE CONSTITUTION

MADAM PRESIDENT: Pursuance to the Global Political Agreement and agreeable by the Standing Rules and Orders Committee on the Select Committee of the Constitution Of Zimbabwe heldon the 12 th April 2009, the following members were appointed to serve on the Select committee:

Hon. Buka, Senator Chief Charumbira, Hon. Chibaya, Hon. Chidhakwa, Hon. Chimanikire, Hon. Chindori - Chininga, Hon. Coltart, Hon. Gaure, Hon. Martin Khumalo, Hon. Majome, Hon. Mangwana, Hon. Matutu, Hon. Mkhosi, Hon. Muchena, Hon. Muchihwa, Hon. Mutsvangwa, Hon. Mwonzora, Hon. Chuma.

This gives the political ratio of 9 for ZANU PF, 9 for MDC-T, and 3 for MDC-M.

JOINT CAUCAS MEETING

MADAM PRESIDENT: I have to inform the senate that all hon. Members are invited to attend a Joint caucus meeting for all the three political parties and chiefs tomorrow 17 th June 2009 at 0900 hrs

in the House of Assembly Chamber.

PROVINCIAL CONSTITUTIONAL CONSULTATIONS ON THE NEW CONSTITUTION

MADAM PRESIDENT: Select Committees on the new constitution will hold provincial consultation meetings as follows:

Harare: Rainbow Towers on Wednesday 24 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Matabeleland North: Lupane on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Midlands: Cathedral Hall on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000 hrs.

Mashonaland Central: Tendai Hall on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000 hrs.

Masvingo: Civic Centre on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Manicaland: Queens Hall on Wednesday 24 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Bulawayo: The Large City Hall on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Mashonaland West: Chinhoyi Hall on Wednesday 24 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Matabeleland South: Gwanda Hotel on Saturday 27 June 2009 at 1000hrs.

Hon. members are invited to attend and are reminded that political party regalia and slogans will not be allowed in the meetings.

WOMEN'S CONSTITUTIONAL SUMMIT

MADAM PRESIDENT: I also have to inform the House that all

women parliamentarians are invited by the Secretary for Women's Affairs,

Gender and Community Development to the National Women's

Constitutional Summit to be held at the Rainbow Towers on Friday 19 th

June 2009 from 0830hrs to 1700 hrs
