PROCLAMATION

 

By

 

HIS  EXCELLENCY THE HONOURABLE ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE G.C.Z.M, President of Zimbabwe.

 

WHEREAS it is provided by section 63 of the Constitution that the President may at any time prorogue Parliament and that that any prorogation shall be by proclamation in the ;

 

AND WHEREAS it is provided by section 62 of the Constitution that the sessions of Parliament shall be held in such place and shall begin at such time as the President may, by proclamation in the, fix:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the powers vested in the President as aforesaid, I do, by this my Proclamation, -

 

  1.  a)  Prorogue Parliament on Monday,5th September 2011; and

Fix-

  • at Parliament Building, Harare, as the place in which the Fourth Session of the Seventh Parliament of Zimbabwe shall be held;

 

  • at twelve o’clock noon on Tuesday 6th September 2011, as the time and date at which the Third Session of the Seventh Parliament of Zimbabwe shall begin.

 

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of Zimbabwe at Harare, this twelfth day of August , in the year of Our Lord two thousand and eleven.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE: I have to inform Honourable Senators that the President of Zimbabwe will today at twelve o’clock noon, in the Chamber of the House of Assembly, declare the cause of his summoning the Parliament to meet. It is my intention now to proceed, attended by the Officers of the Senate, to the Chamber of the House of Assembly.
