  1. Madzorera asked leave to move the adjournment of the House for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent public importance relating to the cholera epidemic that was being experienced by the country since August 2008;

 

and the President of the Senate, having considered the motion to be one contemplated by Standing Order No. 30 (1), called upon Members supporting the motion to rise in their places; and not fewer than ten Members having risen, the President declared the leave of the House to have been granted.

 

The motion stood over, under Standing Order No. 30(1) until a quarter-past five o’clock this afternoon.

 

  1. Adjourned debate on motion in reply to the Presidential Speech. (Adjourned 5th

November 2008 – The Minister of Agricultural Engineering and

Mechanisation)

  1. On the motion of the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs: Debate adjoined until tomorrow.

 

  1. Senator Madzorera, seconded by Hon. Senator J. Ndlovu moved the adjournment of the House pursuant to leave granted in terms of Standing Order 30 (1) in order to discuss a definite matter of urgent public importance relating to the cholera epidemic that was being experienced by the country since August 2008.

 

  1. The Senate adjourned at twenty one minutes past four o’clock p.m.
