The Deputy President of the Senate informed the House that all Senators were being invited to the Pre-Budget Seminar to be held from the 30th of October to the 3rd of November 2015, at Elephant Hills in Victoria Falls. Senators were advised that they had up to Friday, 16th October 2015 to confirm their attendance with the Public Relations Department and that those from Matebeleland North, Matebeleland South, Bulawayo, Masvingo and Midlands provinces were urged to drive to Victoria Falls.

 

  1. The Minister of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development, moved: That the Zimbabwe Gender Commission Bill, (H.B. 8, 2014) which was superceded by the end of the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament be reinstated on the Order Paper at the stage which it had reached.

             

            Motion put and agreed to.

 

  1. Sen. Tawengwa, seconded by Hon. Sen. Mumvuri, moved: That Order of the Day No. 2, for today, stands over until Order of the Day No.3, has been disposed of.

  1. Adjourned debate on motion on the reply to the Presidential Speech (Adjourned 29th September, 2015-The Deputy Minister of Media, Information and Broadcasting

HON. SEN. B. SIBANDA: To ask the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development what measures the Ministry has put in place to rehabilitate the Gwanda – Maphisa road.

HON. SEN. B. SIBANDA :  To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development whether stakeholders were consulted when the “Block

System” of land utilization was introduced at Makwe Irrigation Scheme in Matebeleland South province.

 HON. SEN. B. SIBANDA :  To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and  Irrigation Development to explain the position regarding the setting up of the Mtshazo  Irrigation Scheme in Ward 6 in Gwanda.

*4.     

HON. SEN. B. SIBANDA: To ask the Minister of Environment, Water and Climate when  the construction of the Lutshemo Dam in   Gwanda would commence.
